Job summary

Wisconsin Veterinary Referral Center Racine/Kenosha is seeking a Certified Veterinary Technician for Emergency duties. The role is 2nd shift, 4pm-1am, weekdays with rotating weekends, in a fast-paced 24/7 emergency hospital.

You will perform triage, trauma assessments, diagnostics, stabilization, and monitor anesthesia, collaborating with veterinarians and support staff. Minimum 3-5 years in a veterinary hospital; CVT is required; strong communication and client service are essential.

Qualifications

• Certified Veterinary Technician is required for this role.
• Emergency or Specialty experience is preferred.
• Minimum of 3-5 years experience in a veterinary hospital setting is required.
• Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment and commitment to develop long-term relationships with colleagues, clients, and community is required.
• Maintain a positive outlook and ability to contribute in a collaborative environment.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills are required, and the ability to deliver exceptional client service is expected.
• Strong technical skills including phlebotomy, medication calculations, and radiology positioning.

Responsibilities

• Support triage, trauma assessments, diagnostics, emergency stabilization, and comprehensive patient care.
• Execute tasks such as restraint, phlebotomy, catheter placement, nursing care, drug calculations from fluid rates to CRIs, and monitor anesthesia.
• Work closely with veterinarians, veterinary technicians, and support teams.
• Contribute to a positive, team-focused hospital culture.
