You will be supported as you grow into credentialed technician roles or explore your passion. From triage and treatments to anesthesia assistance and diagnostic support, VEG provides training pathways and mentorship.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Enrolled in AVMA-accredited veterinary technology program a plus.
  • 1+ years in a veterinary assistant role (emergency or specialty a bonus).
  • Basic computer skills and understanding of practice management software/EMR.
  • Excellent communicator with teammates and pet parents.

Responsibilities

  • Be the first warm welcome and triage incoming patients, guiding them toward care.
  • Assist with treatments, nursing care, and diagnostics, from bloodwork to imaging.
  • Work with credentialed technicians and veterinarians on anesthesia setup and monitoring.
  • Set up and manage IV fluids, blood transfusions, and medication administration.
  • Assist during outpatient or inpatient care from exam to treatment areas.
  • Join rounds and stay close to the clinical picture for continuity of care.
  • Learn CPR and become a RECOVER Certified Rescuer (training provided).
  • Grow into advanced tasks such as anesthesia support, ultrasound, catheterization.
