Job summary

PetVet Care Centers' Arkansas Veterinary Emergency & Specialists in Little Rock is seeking Veterinary Assistants to support veterinarians and technicians, handling patient care, equipment sanitation, and clerical tasks.

Open to full-time, part-time, or PRN roles. Three 12-hour shifts per week, including weekends, with shift differentials for overnights and weekends along with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in veterinary medicine.
• Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

• Obtain vitals and a thorough history from client at presentation.
• Restrain canines and felines safely and humanely for exam, diagnostics, and treatments.
• Venipuncture of Cephalic, Saphenous, and Jugular.
• Perform hematology, chemistry, urinalysis, fecal, coagulation panel, and process laboratory samples.
• Radiology techniques and positioning.
• Place and maintain Intravenous Catheters including central lines.
• Place and maintain Urinary Catheters.
• Calculate medication doses and administer oral, injectable, and CRI medications.
