Job summary

Providence’s Emergency Department is seeking an ED Assistant to support patient care under a Registered Nurse. You will assist in carrying out delegated nursing tasks and applying basic nursing skills in a fast-paced ED setting, contributing to patient comfort and safety.

The position requires WA Medical Assistant certifications within 6 months of hire, with a preferred background in EMT/NAC/Medical Assistant and emergency care.

Qualifications

• Must obtain Washington Medical Assistant Phlebotomist Certification within 6 months of hire.
• Must obtain Washington Medical Assistant Certification within 6 months of hire.
• Preferred: EMT/NAC/Medical Assistant background in emergency care.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the Emergency Department under the supervision of the Registered Nurse.
• Perform delegated activities of the nursing plan and support basic nursing skills.
• Contribute to efficient and safe patient care in the Emergency Department.

Description

The Emergency Department Assistant functions within his/her scope of practice under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse to assist in providing care and implementing delegated activities of the nursing plan. S/he demonstrates an understanding of basic nursing skills and utilizes specialized knowledge, skills and techniques in Emergency care to perform and assist in performance of patient care in the Emergency Department.

Required Qualifications:

• Within 6 months (180 days) of hire: Washington Medical Assistant Phlebotomist Certification or,
• Within 6 months (180 days) of hire: Washington Medical Assistant Certification

Preferred Qualifications:

• EMT/NAC/Medical Assistant
• Emergency care.

The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors.
