Job summary

McLaren Emergency Services in Petoskey, MI, seeks a dedicated patient care assistant to support the RN in delivering compassionate, patient-centered care on a dayshift. You will assist with daily activities, maintain a safe and clean environment, and help patients and families with comfort and dignity.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and BLS certification within 30 days (AHA/ARC). Schedule is full-time, weekdays with weekends; shift is 7:00am–7:00pm, 72 hours bi-weekly.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • BLS certification required within 30 days of hire (AHA/ARC or Canadian equivalent).

Responsibilities

  • Performs specific patient care interventions as delegated by the RN to help reach treatment goals.
  • Delivers compassionate support and assistance to patients and families.
  • Provides physical support for daily activities and personal hygiene (bathing, feeding, dressing, mobility).
  • Ensures compliance with health care regulations including HIPAA and OSHA.
  • Maintains a safe, clean environment and follows infection-control policies.
  • Performs other related duties as requested.
