BluePearl Pet Hospital in Summerville, SC is seeking a full time Emergency Service Head Veterinarian (ERSH) who will work alongside our ER Clinicians, Specialists, and Leadership Team to ensure the highest quality medicine and services for pets and our community.

The Emergency Service Head is a clinically practicing manager of the hospital’s ER Clinician team.

As supervisor to ER Clinicians, the role is responsible for all day-to-day matters impacting direct reports including scheduling, hiring, training, mentoring, facilitating regular ER meetings, and representing the ER team as a hospital leader. The incumbent works during a variety of shifts to support the team and collaborates with the Medical Director to ensure the highest level of patient care.

What you need to excel in this role at BluePearl:

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) degree from an AVMA accredited school, or an ECFV certification is required.
• Completion of a rotating internship or residency in emergency and critical care preferred but not required.
• Current license to practice veterinary medicine in this state.
• Strong diagnostic and clinical skills, with the ability to make rapid and accurate assessments in emergency situations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate bedside manner.
