Job summary

Geisinger Wyoming Valley is seeking an Emergency Room Technician I for an evening shift. The role offers 36 hours per week with a $1500 sign-on bonus for eligible candidates and pay scales starting at $15.91 per hour, plus shift differentials for evenings and weekends.

The successful candidate will assist RNs, triage patient needs, and provide basic care while maintaining a safe, healing environment for patients and families.

Qualifications

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 6 months.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Evening shift availability and ability to meet scheduling requirements.

Job Summary:

Geisinger is proud to offer an Emergency Room Technician I a $1500 sign on bonus for eligible candidates, $15.91 minimum hiring rate with increased rates for experienced individuals and up to $3 shift differentials for evening, nights, and weekend shifts! Job Duties:

The ideal candidate for this position is a highly motivated individual who is committed to delivering the highest quality care to our patients. They will demonstrate a strong ability to meet both the orientation and long-term full-time scheduling requirements of the role. Reliability, punctuality, and strong attendance are essential - this candidate consistently shows up on time and ready to contribute meaningfully each day. They are responsive and dependable, with excellent teamwork and communication skills that foster collaboration and support across the care team. A proactive and engaged presence is key to thriving in this role and ensuring exceptional patient outcomes. Performs basic patient care under supervision of the Registered Nurse and maintains the patient care and unit environment consistent with the policies, procedures and practices. Meets the qualifications to provide care for patients in the specific age range on their assigned clinical area. Promotes a caring and healing environment for patient‑centered care. Triages patient care by identifying, observing and documenting the physical needs of the patient and families. Reports changes in patient condition to Registered Nurse. Assists patient care staff by performing the following procedures: wound care, splinting, and EKG's. Provides patient care that may relate to rehabilitation to carry out multidisciplinary care plan for each patient. Provides unit desk clerk functions when needed. Obtains and maintains the integrity of specimens in accordance with policy and procedure, according to physician order. Uses two patient identifiers with proper labeling. Blood glucose monitoring. Urine and stoolSputumiStat testing Assist with transporting patients into and out of the department to other areas of the hospital for tests. Will transport medications to and from pharmacy and within the unit along with transporting blood products to and from Blood Bank. Assists patients with daily activities including undressing and dressing as well as lifting and positioning them to complete certain procedures. Staff have access to non-controlled medications storage and supply areas and can transport non-controlled medications as necessary to meet the needs of the clinic and unit. Coordinate relations between care providers, patients, and visitors. Promotes a caring and healing environment for patient‑centered care. Work is typically performed in a clinical environment. Position Details:

Full Time, Evenings Position (36 Hours/weekly) 3 - 12 hour shifts 11am - 11:30pm Every other weekend and holiday rotation required
