Job summary

Forrest City Hospital Inc in Forrest City, AR seeks an Emergency Room support technician to assist physicians and nurses by performing phlebotomy, IV starts, and 12-lead EKGs, while transporting patients and monitoring vital signs.

Under the MD's license, you will also assist with technical care, monitor equipment, and maintain a clean workspace. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, and at least 1 year of experience is preferred; BLS is required.

Responsibilities

• Provides ER technical support for physicians and nurses to optimize patient care.
• Performs phlebotomy and IV starts, 12-lead EKGs, and transports patients to other departments.

• Performs wound care and in/out catheterizations; obtains lab specimens and documents care and procedures.
• Assists the Emergency Physician with technical support and cleans equipment and workspace.

Description

Provides Emergency Room technical support for physicians and nurses to optimize patient care. All activities are under the license of the MD. Assists the RNs and MDs in providing technical care of the patients by performing phlebotomy and IV starts, performing 12 lead EKGs, transporting patients to other departments, placing patient on cardiac and vital sign monitors, performs Point of Care Testing, performing wound care, performing in and out catheters, obtaining lab specimens and documenting all care/procedures provided. Assists the Emergency Physician with technical support. Cleans equipment and workspace. High School diploma or equivalent. At least 1-year previous experience preferred. BLS required.
