Job summary

CareWell Health Medical Center's Emergency Department seeks an Emergency Room Technician to provide direct, basic patient care under supervision. You will assist with transportation, equipment handling, and daily care tasks while maintaining confidentiality and teamwork.

Responsibilities include collecting specimens, performing phlebotomy and EKGs, wound care, documenting procedures, and supporting nurses in treatments. Flexibility to cover holidays and weekends is required.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • One year of relevant work experience preferred.
  • ERT, EKG, and Phlebotomy certifications preferred; BLS-CPR required.
  • Ability to work as part of a care team with confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Collect specimens and document procedures per policy.
  • Perform phlebotomy, EKGs, splinting, wound care and simple dressings.
  • Assist with patient transportation and nurse-assisted treatments.
  • Record vital signs, charting, and routine care tasks.
  • Maintain HIPAA compliance and confidentiality.
  • Support team as needed and cover holidays/weekends.

Job description

Job Summary

The Emergency Room Technician provides direct, basic patient care activities under the guidance and direction of a Registered, Practical LPN Nurse. Handles the care and cleaning of specific equipment, stocking of supplies and equipment. ER Tech assists with transportation of patients, supplies and equipment.

Essential Functions
  • Accountable for collection of test specimens as directed according to established procedures and documents.
  • Technician performs phlebotomy, EKGs, splinting, Transport, wound care, simple dressing and other duties as required within the Emergency Room.
  • Assists customers in a friendly, prompt, caring manner, always maintaining the highest level of confidentiality and respect.
  • Be able to work as part of the care team to meet the needs of the customer and to support team objectives, assisting other team members when necessary.
  • Compliant with HIPAA regulations at all times.
  • Supported and promoted an environment that was conductive to quality customer service.
  • Responded to every emergency situation according to hospital policy.
  • Practiced flexibility by assuming the role of administrative assistant when needed.
  • Properly documented all procedures as required and without error.
  • Assisted nurses with patient treatments.
  • Preformed daily duties of vital signs, patient turns, AM care, PM care charting, and other requested tasks.

Minimum Education/Certifications
High School Diploma Or Equivalent. One Year Experience Required
