Job summary

UT Health Jacksonville is seeking a variable shift, PRN Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) in Jacksonville, TX to provide compassionate, patient‑centered care across all ages.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team, follow physician orders, and apply the nursing process to plans of care. Texas RN license, BLS/ACLS/PALS/ENPC and NIHSS certifications may be required before orientation ends.

This role supports a fast-paced ED and uses advanced technology to enhance patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Degree in nursing from an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Current Texas RN license.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
• ACLS required before end of orientation.
• PALS or ENPC required before end of orientation.
• NIHSS certification required before end of orientation.

Responsibilities

• Administers care to a patient population ranging from newborn to geriatric and utilizes a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach to ensure that each patient receives nursing care appropriate to his/her illness or injury.
• Prioritizes patient care need based on the patient assessment and uses the nursing process to implement a plan of care appropriate to each patient’s needs.
• Delivers care consistent with physician’s orders and treatment protocols and in accordance with hospital and departmental policy.
