Job summary

Lake Huron Medical Center in Port Huron, MI is seeking a Registered Nurse to deliver safe patient care in Telemetry and the Emergency Department using the nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate care. This part-time evening shift role requires MI RN license and current certifications.

We require at least 1 year of ER experience; BSN and CEN are preferred. EMTALA compliance and patient privacy are emphasized, with a supportive team environment in a growing hospital system.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Current PALS certificate and/or ENPC 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
• Minimum of one year experience as a staff nurse RN in an acute care hospital setting; ER setting preferred.
• Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process throughout Telemetry and the Emergency Department.
• Direct and guide patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining professional standards.
• Communicate with the physician about changes in the patient's clinical condition including results of diagnostic studies and symptoms.
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment.
• Knowledge of EMTALA regulations and reporting of child/adult abuse to appropriate agencies and Hospital Social Worker.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.

Education

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) preferred
