Lake Butler Hospital is a critical access hospital providing 24-hour emergency services, inpatient hospitalization, swing bed program, rehabilitation services, outpatient laboratory, and outpatient radiology (X-ray, ultrasound, and CT Scan) services to Union County and the surrounding counties.

We are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (APRN) or Physician's Assistant (PA) to join our Lake Butler Hospital team! This is a PRN position providing support for PTO and time away for other providers when needed.

Job Summary:

Provides high quality, cost-effective patient care in accordance with 464 F.S. Performs medical services for which the nurse practitioner/physician' assistant is medically qualified and has clinical privileges granted by the medical staff of Lake Butler Hospital. Works under indirect supervision of the ER Medical Director and Chief Clinician. Treats patients per established protocols and guidelines or in consultation with ER Medical Director and Chief Clinician. Prescribes medication in accordance with regulatory requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The following shall be professionally executed under the indirect supervision of the ER Medical Director and Chief Clinician in accordance with the approved clinical privileges of the Nurse Practitioner by the medical staff of Lake Butler Hospital:

1. Knowledge of and adherence to Hospital and Critical Assess Hospital Regulations.
2. Knowledge of and adherence to OSHA Blood borne Pathogen Standards.
3. Knowledge of nursing techniques and procedures; medical and lab equipment and testing procedures; medication.
4. Knowledge of emergency medical treatment protocols and processes.
5. Knowledge of interviewing and counseling techniques with patients.

Requirements

Licensure: Current, Valid Florida APRN (Advanced Practice Registered Nurse) License or PA (Physician' Assistant) Required Master's Degree. Medicare and Medicaid Provider.

Experience: 1 - 3 Years required, 3 - 5 Years preferred.

Skills: Strong communication skills. Prior experience in using an electronic medical records system. Comfort with evaluating and treating patients of all ages (newborns through geriatrics) Must demonstrate excellence in patient focused medical care & delivery. Strong medical decision-making skills are a must.

Knowledge: Comfort with evaluating and treating patients of all ages.

Abilities: Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, patients, and the public.
