Job summary

The Hospital Authority of Jenkins County is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department. You will provide direct and indirect patient care, support fast-paced triage, monitor patient conditions, administer medications, and collaborate with physicians and the care team.

Ideal candidates will have an accredited RN program, Georgia RN license, BLS and ACLS (PALS preferred), with ED experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN program.
• Current Georgia RN license.
• Minimum of two (2) years of ED experience preferred.
• BLS certification mandatory; ACLS within 3 months; PALS within 6 months preferred.
• CPI training to be completed within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial assessments, take vitals, and monitor patient conditions; report changes to charge nurse.
• Assist with emergency procedures, wound care, and dressing changes.
• Start IVs, hang/monitor/discontinue IV fluids, and administer medications within the nursing scope of practice.
• Administer and monitor medications in accordance with physicians’ orders.
• Evaluate patient progress and report changes in condition.
• Communicate effectively with physicians and interdisciplinary team members regarding patient status, symptoms, and diagnostic results.
• Maintain accurate nursing documentation in the medical record with CPSI access.
• Review discharge instructions with patients and families.
• Assist in maintaining a stocked and clean department.
• Respond appropriately in high stress and fast paced environments.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education

Graduated from an accredited RN program

Current Georgia RN license

BLS certification

ACLS certification or within 3 months of employment

POSITION SUMMARY:

The RN provides direct and indirect patient care in the Emergency Department. Provides care that meets the psychosocial, physical, and general aspects of care; meets the communication needs of patient and families; and reflects initiative and responsibility consistent with professional expectations.
