Job summary

Rutland Regional Medical Center in Rutland, VT, is looking for an Emergency Psychiatric Technician to join the ED team. The role involves providing basic and supportive care to psychiatric patients of all ages and ensuring a safe environment.

As part of an interdisciplinary team, you will monitor patients at risk, apply de-escalation and safety strategies, and participate in department functions to support ED operations. Evening/night shifts and rotating weekends/holidays are required.

Qualifications

• Requires knowledge to comply with federal, state, and local statutes and regulations as they apply.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic computer skills to include Microsoft Office suite of programs.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic and supportive care to psychiatric patients of all age groups to ensure a safe environment.
• Direct monitoring of patients with identified risks and applying mitigating strategies to maintain safety.
• Engage in general department functions to support the overall operations of the Emergency Department.
