Dignity Health’s St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Stockton, CA seeks an Emergency Services RN to provide holistic, safe care from admission to discharge. You will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care, document thoroughly, mentor staff, and pursue ongoing development in a fast-paced setting.

You must be a graduate of an RN program with CA RN licensure and BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications; ED experience preferred. Sign-on available for eligible hires with relevant recent experience.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an RN program and licensed to practice as an RN in California.
  • Strong assessment, documentation, and critical thinking skills.
  • Commitment to patient-centered care in a fast-paced emergency setting.
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Assesses physical, psychosocial, spiritual, cultural, functional, high-risk and discharge needs.
  • Completes and documents initial assessment and care within required time frames.
  • Performs reassessments and care when appropriate for the patient's needs.
  • Ensures comprehensive physical and spiritual assessments are performed.
  • Incorporates cultural and ethnic factors into care.
  • Mentors new staff and supports a safe patient environment.

Job Summary And Responsibilities

As our Registered Nurse (RN) in Emergency Services, you will help individuals and families receive holistic, effective, and appropriate care in a safe and confidential environment so they can achieve optimal health outcomes from admission to discharge. Every day you will assess patients, plan, implement, and evaluate their care, utilizing your clinical skills and technology. You will be expected to document thoroughly, accept leadership direction, mentor new staff, engage in continuous self-development, and maintain a safe patient environment while adhering to policies and procedures. To be successful in this role, you will possess keen assessment skills, acute critical thinking, and a patient-first mindset, driven by a profound enthusiasm to help others. Responsibilities
  • Assesses the physical, psycho-social, spiritual, cultural, functional, high risk and discharge needs of the patient and family.

Job Requirements
  • Graduate of an RN School of Nursing
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of California
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification - American Heart Association
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification - American Heart Association
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification - American Heart Association
Preferred
  • Bachelors in health related field
  • ED experience
  • Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) certification
