Job description

Emergency Medicine Physician (EM MD/DO) – Full-Time Opportunity

Are you a dedicated Emergency Medicine Physician looking to make a significant impact in a dynamic healthcare environment? We have an immediate opening for an EM MD/DO to join a busy Level III Trauma Center. This role offers a chance to provide high-quality emergency care in a well-supported department, working alongside experienced physicians and advanced practice providers (APPs). As an ABEM board-certified Emergency Medicine Physician, you will play a critical role in ensuring patient safety, delivering timely interventions, and collaborating with a wide range of medical specialists.

Joining the emergency department means you will be an essential part of a team that manages over 24,500 annual emergency department visits. The facility boasts a modern 13-bed emergency department, including trauma, cardiac, and negative-pressure rooms, to ensure comprehensive care for a diverse patient population. The use of the Cerner EMR system streamlines workflow and enhances patient documentation, supporting efficient and accurate care delivery.

Physician coverage is maintained 24 hours per day, with 12-hour shifts to ensure optimal work-life balance and continuous patient care. APPs provide an additional 20 hours of coverage daily, with 10-hour shifts, supporting collaborative care and enabling physicians to focus on complex patient cases. The emergency department is structured to handle a variety of cases, from trauma and cardiac events to infectious disease and critical care situations.

The hospital is equipped with comprehensive resources, including a Cath Lab, CT and MRI imaging, ICU, OB/GYN, neurosurgery, pediatrics, orthopedics, urology, trauma services, psychiatry/behavioral health, and physical therapy. This strong specialty and hospital support network ensures that patients receive the care they need promptly, while also allowing emergency physicians to consult with specialists as required. Complex pediatric cases are safely transferred to specialized centers as appropriate.

In this role, Emergency Medicine Physicians will benefit from cross-credentialing opportunities at multiple emergency department locations, broadening clinical exposure and professional experience. This collaborative environment fosters skill development and offers pathways for career advancement within the organization.

This is an outstanding opportunity for Emergency Medicine Physicians seeking a fast-paced, supportive workplace with excellent specialty support. The local area offers a vibrant community and a unique setting for both personal and professional growth.
