Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Physician Assistant for Emergency Medicine in the Union/Charlotte area. The role provides complex diagnostic and therapeutic care under indirect supervision, with ongoing teaching and patient-education responsibilities in a fast-paced ED setting.

Candidate must graduate from an accredited PA program and hold current PA licensure; applicants should be prepared for rotating shifts and to contribute to research and education within the department.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Current PA licensure.
• Ability to work rotating shifts.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
• Coordinate and schedule labs and diagnostic procedures; explain procedures to patients.
• Provide patient care under indirect physician supervision and monitor progress.
• Plan and schedule work for the physician's health team ensuring proper staffing.
• Participate in basic science and clinical research; prepare reports.
• Teach students, residents and interns in Emergency Medicine.
• Ensure complete documentation in medical records.
• Engage in continuing education in emergency/urgent care.
• Stay updated with department and hospital policy.
• Ensure age-appropriate patient care according to guidelines.
