Job summary

77 consultants is seeking an associate-level Locum MD/DO Emergency Medicine physician for an on-site, contract role in Clinton, NC. The position involves delivering high-quality emergency care, collaborating with ED staff, and maintaining accurate EMR records.

The role requires board certification/eligibility in Emergency Medicine, an unrestricted license, and a flexible schedule to cover evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
• Valid, unrestricted medical license to practice emergency medicine in Clinton
• Board certification or board eligibility in Emergency Medicine
• Associate-level experience in emergency medicine or equivalent clinical experience
• Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, ATLS, and PALS as required

Responsibilities

• Provide emergency medical care to patients with acute illnesses, injuries, and urgent conditions
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments including history, exam, and diagnostics
• Develop and implement patient treatment plans aligned with evidence-based guidelines
• Order and interpret labs, imaging, and other diagnostic tests
• Stabilize critically ill or injured patients and coordinate emergency interventions
• Collaborate with ED nurses, specialists, and staff to optimize patient care
• Document encounters accurately in the EMR and ensure chart completeness
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies and patient safety standards
• Communicate diagnoses, treatment options, and follow-up plans with patients and families
• Engage in ED quality improvement initiatives and clinical audits as needed
• Provide on-site coverage for ED shifts including evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call rotations
