The EMT-B will support emergency transports between hospitals, ensure equipment readiness, and participate in public education about the service to the community.
Must maintain BLS, DMV check, and Michigan licensure, with continuing education to re-license every three years.
This position provides basic life support procedures from the time of arrival to a patient until the patient care is relinquished to the physician or paramedic. The Basic Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) must have knowledge of assessment and the skills to manage a wide variety of life threatening illnesses or injuries. Provides continuing care during transfers between hospitals and routine care during non-emergency transports.
