Job summary

Holy Name Medical Center in Hackensack, NJ is seeking an EMT to provide basic level pre-hospital emergency care. Under direction, operate an ambulance, perform assessments, and transport patients to the hospital. You will follow NJAC 8:40 and maintain readiness through equipment checks.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Emergency driving experience such as CEVO/EVOC required.
• ICS 100, Haz‑Mat and WMD Awareness preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and team skills (high proficiency).
• Ability to remain calm and think clearly during stressful situations.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily equipment, vehicle and radio checks to ensure readiness.
• Answer emergency and non‑emergency calls as dispatched.
• Drive ambulance and comply with NJ motor vehicle laws.
• Assess injuries and determine priorities for care and transport.
• Administer basic emergency care including airway management and CPR.
• Assist in patient extrication and coordinate with dispatcher for resources.
• Prepare patient for transport and document care provided.
