Job summary

Wexford Health Sources seeks an Emergency Medical Technician to provide critical care within the Douglas County Correctional Center in Omaha, NE. You’ll perform assessments, document findings, and deliver both emergency and routine medical services under licensed supervision.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited EMT/Paramedic program, valid EMT or Paramedic license in the state, and current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient assessments, obtain medical histories and vital signs, and document findings in the medical record.
• Provide treatments and procedures per medical orders, EMT protocols, and scope of practice.
• Perform screening, triage, and basic life support for routine and emergency needs.
• Assist with infirmary admissions, discharges, and ongoing patient care activities.
• Support physicians, nurses and staff in patient care delivery.
• Maintain accurate documentation and monitor patient conditions.

PAY RATE: $22-28/hr.

Position Summary

Working under the direction of the Director of Nursing and licensed clinical staff, you'll provide emergency and non-emergency patient care while supporting the delivery of healthcare services throughout the facility. Your responsibilities will include:

• Conducting patient assessments, obtaining medical histories and vital signs, and documenting findings in the medical record
• Providing treatments and procedures in accordance with medical orders, EMT protocols, and scope of practice
• Performing screening, triage, and basic life support while responding to routine and emergency medical needs
• Assisting with infirmary admissions, discharges, and ongoing patient care activities
• Supporting physicians, nurses, and other healthcare staff in the delivery of patient care
• Maintaining accurate documentation, monitoring patient conditions, and communicating changes to the healthcare team

You'll go beyond emergency response. You'll provide compassionate care, clinical support, and timely interventions that help improve patient outcomes every day.
