Job summary

Wexford Health Sources, Inc. seeks an EMT at Douglas County Correctional Center in Omaha, NE to provide emergency and routine medical care in a secure healthcare setting.

Under supervision of nursing leadership, you will assess patients, document findings, perform treatments per EMT protocols, and support the healthcare team.

Night shifts are available; current EMT or Paramedic license and CPR certification are required, with correctional healthcare experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited EMT or Paramedic training program.
• Current EMT or Paramedic license in state of practice.
• Current CPR certification.
• Minimum of one (1) year of clinical experience preferred.
• Correctional healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conducting patient assessments, obtaining medical histories and vital signs, and documenting findings in the medical record.
• Providing treatments and procedures in accordance with medical orders, EMT protocols, and scope of practice.
• Performing screening, triage, and basic life support while responding to routine and emergency medical needs.
• Assisting with infirmary admissions, discharges, and ongoing patient care activities.
• Supporting physicians, nurses, and other healthcare staff in the delivery of patient care.
• Maintaining accurate documentation, monitoring patient conditions, and communicating changes to the healthcare team.

PAY RATE: $22-28/hr.

Position Summary Working under the direction of the Director of Nursing and licensed clinical staff, you'll provide emergency and non-emergency patient care while supporting the delivery of healthcare services throughout the facility. Your responsibilities will include:

• Conducting patient assessments, obtaining medical histories and vital signs, and documenting findings in the medical record
• Providing treatments and procedures in accordance with medical orders, EMT protocols, and scope of practice
• Performing screening, triage, and basic life support while responding to routine and emergency medical needs

What You'll Need
