Job summary

Symbiosis is hiring Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) to support out-of-hospital services across southern California. Responsibilities include providing BLS/ALS care, transporting patients, and operating in high-pressure event and routine settings.

The position offers flexible scheduling with full-time and part-time options. Applicants must hold a California EMT card, CPR certification, a valid CA driver’s license, and pass required medical and ambulance certifications.

Qualifications

• California EMT card required.
• American Heart Association or Red Cross CPR Certification required.
• CA driver’s license with excellent driving record.
• Medical Examiner’s Certificate required.
• Ambulance Driver’s Certificate (ADC) required.

Responsibilities

• Provide EMT shift coverage based on call volume needs.
• Respond to dispatch instructions and drive the emergency vehicle to locations.
• Assess illness or injury and determine required basic life support procedures.
• Assist patient transfer to receiving facilities.
• Record vital signs and administer prescribed treatment on-site or in vehicles.
• Assist with equipment, medication, and supply inventory management.
• Maintain on-call coverage.

We are currently hiring qualified Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs). Both full-time and part-time positions are available. • Interfacility Transport (BLS, ALS, & CCT): Assist in the care and transportation of patients from hospitals across southern California

• Provide EMT shift coverage based on call volume needs
• Responds to instructions from dispatch and drives the emergency vehicle to specified locations
• Determines nature and extent of illness or injury, or magnitude of catastrophe, in order to establish the basic life support procedures needed to be followed, basing decisions on statements of persons involved, the examination of victim or victims, and knowledge of the emergency medical practice
• Removes or assists in the removal of victims from vehicles, or the scene of an accident or catastrophe, and assists in the transfer of victims to receiving facilities
• Takes and records a patient’s vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, and respiratory rate
• Administers prescribed treatment at the site of an emergency, or in specially equipped vehicles, performing such activities as first aid, immobilization of injuries, application of splints, administration of oxygen, treatment of minor wounds or abrasions, or administration of basic life support procedures
• Assists admitting and billing personnel to obtain and record information related to the patient’s vital statistics and to establish the necessity for medical transportation
• Completes field care report patient billing /trip ticket and daily driver’s unit checkout form
• Assist with equipment, medication, and supply inventory management
• On-call coverage

• California state EMT card required
• American Heart Association or Red Cross Healthcare Provider CPR Certification required
• CA driver’s license required and must have an excellent driving record
• Medical Examiner’s Certificate required
• Ambulance Driver’s Certificate (ADC) required

• Knowledge of modern EMS principles, procedures, techniques, and equipment
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
• Reading, writing, comprehension, and basic mathematical skills are required
• Critical thinking skills and ability to solve problems
• Must maintain calm in stressful and chaotic situations

• Prolonged periods of standing, walking and lifting
• Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds at times with or without assistance

Work Location: In person

Payrate: $17.00

Full Time, 8 hour shifts
