Job summary

Northern Light Mayo Hospital in Dover Foxcroft, ME is seeking an Emergency Medical Technician – Basic to provide clinical management of patients under Maine EMS protocols during ambulance runs. This full-time role offers a wage range and opportunities to collaborate with hospital staff and pre-hospital teams.

You will follow EMS protocols, maintain equipment, and participate in training and QA/QI activities to ensure quality patient care.

Responsibilities

• Maintains equipment and supplies and completes quarterly skills labs and QA/QI sessions.

Summary:

Provides clinical management of patients under Maine EMS protocols and within the scope of the licensure during emergency and routine ambulance runs. Responsible for meeting applicable State of Maine, and department standards for managing all assigned personnel, equipment and supplies, and for promoting teamwork with other pre-hospital care givers, physicians, and hospital personnel.

Responsibilities:

• Competent in the use of equipment on board the ambulance.
• Appropriately follows EMS protocols in the management of patient care.
• Demonstrates competency in the care of all patients.
• Sets priorities and demonstrates ability to facilitate the care of patients during emergency situations
• Demonstrates competency in procedures within scope of practice.
• Operates the ambulance in a safe and prudent manner following hospital policy, and State of Maine laws.
• 100% of runs requiring review completed.
• 100% successful completion of quarterly skills labs.
• 75% attendance at QA/QI sessions.
