Job summary

East Texas A&M University is seeking an Emergency Management Program Specialist/Manager to lead university-wide emergency planning, training and exercise programs. The role coordinates with state and federal partners, manages EOC activations, and ensures regulatory compliance and effective incident response.

The position reports to the University Police Department and supports preparedness, mitigation, recovery, and stakeholder engagement across ETAMU’s campus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Two years of related experience in administration, program management, emergency operations or related field.
• Knowledge of emergency management practices, policies and trends.

Responsibilities

• Oversees multiple emergency management programs and leads strategic planning for response activities.
• Develops and maintains ICS, Emergency Response Plans and Business Continuity Plans.
• Coordinates with Homeland Security and other agencies on emergency management activities.
• Manages EOC operations during activations and supervises training and exercises.
• Engages community leaders and conducts after-action reviews and reporting.
