Job summary

Idaho National Laboratory seeks an Emergency Management Drill and Exercise Planner to join the Emergency Management organization in Idaho Falls. The role reports to the BEA Emergency Management Manager and supports DOE-aligned drill development on a 9x80 schedule with every other Friday off.

You will translate operational requirements into technical solutions, develop scenarios, coordinate teams, and oversee exercise preparation and reporting to ensure readiness across emergency preparedness,

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Emergency Management, Law Enforcement, Fire or a related field with 5 years of related professional experience or a Master’s degree with 2 years of related professional experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance, which requires US Citizenship.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate annual and 5 year drills and exercises.
  • Distribute and update drill schedules monthly.
  • Review drill packages and reports.
  • Develop, prepare, and coordinate drill and exercise packages and reports.
  • Establish exercise scope and objectives; determine participant requirements.
  • Develop scenarios and supervise exercise teams (development, controller/evaluator).
  • Coordinate with EM facility planners for consistency.
