Job summary

Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine seeks a dedicated Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) to join the ENFAH Emergency and Nursing Care team at the Cornell University Hospital for Animals.

You will provide hands-on nursing care for emergency and hospitalized equine and farm animal patients while collaborating with clinicians, house officers, students, and fellow technicians in a teaching hospital.

Qualifications

• AVMA- accredited veterinary technology program and NY licensure (or eligible within 3 months)
• Ability to provide basic nursing care for large animal patients
• Ability to meet physical demands including lifting 50 lbs
• Proficiency with point-of-care diagnostics and hospital information systems

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care for diverse large animal caseload, including critically ill patients.
• Triage emergencies, initiate stabilization and treatment in fast-paced settings.
• Perform diagnostics using bloodwork, ultrasound, endoscopy, radiography.
• Collaborate with faculty, house officers, students, and staff to support training of veterinary learners
