Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; 1 year of work experience may substitute education.
• Knowledge of medical terminology required.
• Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers required.
• EKG class within 6 months of hire or entry to position required.

Responsibilities

• Maintains professional competence through education, workshops and mandatory unit education.
• Performs clerical duties: answering calls, data entry, photocopying, preparing requisitions and reports; restocks supplies.
• Communicates with health care team, patients and visitors with courteous, timely messages.
• Works as a team member and assists in orienting new staff.
• Accurately assembles, processes and scans patient charts; maintains confidentiality of records.
• Performs related duties as assigned.
