Salary Range: $23.50 To $27.53 Annually

POSITION SUMMARY

DEFINITION

Under general direction, provides direct supportive care to patients. May perform designated procedures under supervision of the Registered Nurse or Physician within their scope of practice.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education

Education supplemented by vocational training in para-medical program (EMT-1 or Paramedic). Or an accredited LVN program as evidenced by licensure.

Experience

Previous experience as Emergency Medical Technician (EMT-1, paramedic or LVN) preferred but not required.

License or Certificate

• BLS certification through AHA only
• EMT certification or Licensed Paramedic
• Or current California LVN licensure with IV certification
• Phlebotomy State Certification (if not licensed paramedic or LVN with IV cert)
• Basic arrhythmia (preferred)

KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES

Knowledge of:

• Anatomy and physiology
• Medical modalities.
• Basic arrhythmia
• Basic EMT procedures.
• Modern office equipment, information system and software programs
