UPMC Altoona is hiring a part-time RN Staff Nurse in the Emergency Department. The role supports patient care with direct nursing procedures, medication administration, and care planning within a fast-paced ED setting.

You'll work a day/night rotation, with weekend shifts and holidays as part of a 6-week cycle, and you may be eligible for a $7,500 sign-on bonus. Licensure, CPR, and ongoing competencies are required.

Qualificações

• Must hold a current license to practice nursing in the State of Pennsylvania
• Must satisfactorily complete the Nursing Department's orientation program and probationary period.
• CPR required based on AHA standards with both didactic and skills demonstration within 30 days of hire
• Must obtain ACLS certification within two years of hire/transfer
• Must obtain BLS certification within two years of hire/transfer
• Must obtain NIH Stroke Scale (NIH) within two years of hire/transfer
• Must obtain PALS within two years of hire/transfer
• Must hold RN license (registered nurse)
• Act 33 with renewal
• Act 34 with renewal
• Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal

Responsabilidades

• Provide direct patient care using nursing protocols and document procedures safely.
• Administer medications and IV therapy following policy.
• Reassess patients every eight hours or as needed and update care plans.
• Coordinate with families and communities to create consistent care plans.
• Engage with medical staff to discuss and develop patient care plans.
• Use Bed Management System, Alpha, CPOE, and other systems efficiently.
• Instruct patients and families with health teaching; contribute to staff education.
• Adhere to universal precautions and address environmental factors affecting care.
