Job summary

Henry Ford Health in Michigan is seeking a Clinical Nurse Specialist to lead nursing practice in the Emergency Department. You will apply evidence-based care, mentor bedside nurses, and drive system improvements to enhance access, quality, and safety for high-acuity patients.

This 40-hour/day shift role requires collaboration with Nurse Managers and Directors, participation in education and research, and leadership in redesigning processes to deliver exceptional patient care.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree or higher in Nursing.
• 3–5 years of progressively more responsible RN experience in a clinical setting.
• Current Michigan RN license and Michigan CNS license.
• Advanced Practice CNS Certification (ANCC or AACN) or portfolio cert per MI.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert comprehensive nursing care directly to patients.
• Support and develop registered nurses at the point of care.
• Lead redesign of systems to improve access, quality, and safety.
• Utilize evidence-based practice and innovations in care.
• Function as a leadership team member, partnering with Nurse Managers/Directors to assure competence, practice standards, orientation, and education.
• Serve as a clinical expert, providing teaching, mentoring, consulting, research, management, and systems improvement in a specific practice area or patient population.
