Job summary

MaineGeneral Health is seeking a Charge Nurse (RN) for our Emergency Department on the Augusta and Waterville campuses. The 36-hour week splits into 24 hours as Charge Nurse and 12 hours as RN, with weekends and holiday rotation. Active Maine RN licensure and ER experience are required; BLS/ACLS/PALS are preferred.

We offer a competitive hourly pay range of $37.00–$64.75, with shift and other differentials, plus a comprehensive benefits package designed to support our caregivers and communities.

Job Description

Supervises and mentors nursing and support staff during assigned shift. Determines staffing level and assignments based on staff availability, staff abilities, census, and patient acuity. Provides direct patient care as needed. Floats between staff to assist with problem solving. May take patient assignments to meet staffing needs. Weekends and holiday rotation is expected and will train and work at both campuses in Augusta and Waterville. Evaluates the effectiveness of patient care and identifies any issues that affect desired patient outcomes. Responds to complaints about patient care and related services, and manages through established channels. Performs responsibility of underlying job, including entering orders, performing admissions or discharges, and coordinating transfers. Ensures staff has necessary equipment and supplies to provide safe and effective patient care.

Compensation Information

$37.00 - $64.75 The hourly pay range shown represents the base pay range for this position. Individual pay is determined based on factors such as experience, qualifications, skills, and market considerations. In addition to base pay, eligible team members may earn additional compensation through shift, weekend, holiday, on-call, and other applicable differentials.
