Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health in Texas seeks an Emergency Department Technician to support emergency care under Nursing supervision. The role collects vital signs, conducts phlebotomy, assists patient mobility, and documents data per protocol.

Responsibilities include communicating with nurses and physicians, supporting patient education, and coordinating clinical tasks in a fast-paced ED environment. Requires HS diploma and BLS; 1 year ofExperience preferred.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a clinical setting.
• BLS certification required or within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient care duties and collect vital signs, weight, pulse oximetry, pain scales, visual acuity, and nutrition data; document appropriately.
• Recognize abnormal data and promptly report; implement orders; document interventions per hospital protocol.
• Provide direct technical care including mobility, toileting, feeding, and other personal care needs.
• Perform phlebotomy to obtain venous blood samples and deliver specimens for lab review.
• Help transport patients to and from the department; support patient education and address questions.
• Coordinate clinical activities and communicate with nurses, physicians and other healthcare staff.
• Engage in effective communication with the care team to exchange patient information.
