CommonSpirit Health is seeking a National Internal Traveler RN to provide independent, high-quality patient care across diverse clinical settings. You will use advanced nursing skills, continually expanding your practice through education and collaboration, while maintaining professional accountability and patient safety in dynamic environments.

You will assess, plan, and implement care; guide support staff; manage equipment and emergencies; and support families’ informational needs.

Qualifikationen

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience in specialty areas listed.
• ADN or Nursing Diploma is required.
• Current unencumbered RN license in practicing state or compact licensure.
• Current BLS certification; specialty credentials may be required by facility.
• BSN preferred; other certifications may be required based on assignment.

• Assess, plan, and implement nursing care, ensuring patient comfort.
• Anticipate and respond to informational and emotional needs of patients and families.
• Guide and direct Patient Care Technicians in patient care activities.
• Maintain knowledge of equipment setup and safe operation (IV pumps, monitors, drainage).
• Initiate emergency measures including CPR and safety protections.
• Assist with care tasks such as drainage management, ambulation, and hygiene.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a National Internal Traveler RN, you will be a direct clinical registered nurse providing independent patient care within your scope of practice. Daily, you will utilize your advanced patient care skills, continuously enhancing your nursing knowledge, skills, and behaviors through education and involvement beyond basic job requirements. Success in this role requires exceptional clinical expertise, strong adaptability, a proactive approach to professional development, and a steadfast commitment to independent, high-quality patient care in dynamic settings.

• Assesses, plans, and implements nursing care while ensuring patient comfort.
• Anticipates, identifies, and responds to informational and emotional needs of patients and families.
• Guides and directs healthcare personnel (i.e., Patient Care Technicians) in caring for patients.
• Maintains knowledge of equipment setup, maintenance, and use (i.e., IV pumps, monitoring equipment, and drainage devices) Utilizes safeguards such as IV pump drug library and monitor alarms with necessary.
• Initiates emergency support measures (i.e., cardiopulmonary resuscitation, protecting patient from injury).
• Assists with patient care duties/tasks (i.e., emptying drainage devices, ambulating, and hygiene).

Job Requirements

Required Education and Experience:

• Minimum 2 years of experience as registered nurse in specialty area(s)(e.g., medical/surgical, telemetry, intensive care, emergency department, operating room, post-anesthesia recovery, pediatrics, maternal-child health)
• ADN or Nursing Diploma
• Current unencumbered license as a Registered Nurse from the state(s) in which he or she will be practicing and/or compact state license
• Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS.)
• Other credentials may be required based on specialty and area(s) of assignment as specified by the requesting facility, state licenseand other regulatory requirements for local, state and federal agencies.
• Certification in specialty preferred; certifications and competencies to support care area and patient population served.

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
