UC San Diego Health is seeking an Emergency Department Technician to support RNs and the care team in delivering compassionate patient care. The technician will collect vital signs, assist with ADLs, and transport specimens, equipment, and patients as needed.
You will help with minor procedures, maintain safety, and assist with mobility and transfers. Responsibilities also include clerical duties, supply management, and may participate in scheduling and committees.
The Emergency Department (ED) Technician works under the direct supervision of registered nurses (RNs) and supports the interdisciplinary care team in delivering high-quality, compassionate care. As a vital member of the patient care team, the ED Tech performs a variety of clinical and non-clinical tasks to ensure efficient and effective patient care.
BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.
Minimum one (1) year of recent experience in an emergency department, pre-hospital, psychiatric, acute care, or critical care setting.
Demonstrates ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
Excellent interpersonal communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
Commitment to patient safety, confidentiality, and quality care.
De-escalation and behavioral management training with a commitment to get CPI within six (6) months of the hire date.
Demonstrates computer knowledge and skills.
California EMT, MHW and/or CNA certification.
Bilingual (Spanish/English).
Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range: $71,848 - $71,848 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $34.41 - $34.41
