Christian Hospital in St. Louis is seeking a student RN or enrolled RN apprentice to provide multi-skilled, direct patient care under supervision.

You will assist with patient education, support the nursing team, and help ensure supplies and equipment are available for patients with high-acuity needs. The role emphasizes learning and hands-on practice in a fast-paced environment, with participation in documentation and patient prep for tests.

Formación

• Enrolled-accredited RN program required.
• Enrolled-accredited BSN program preferred.

Northwest HealthCare, six miles west of Christian, offers 24- hour emergency care, the Sleep Disorders Center and a variety of outpatient diagnostic and imaging services.

The Emergency Department provides primary diagnoses and complaints for patients seen include chest pain, respiratory distress, medical emergencies, seizures, headaches, fevers, lacerations, fractures, urinary tract infections, vaginal bleeding, strokes, and multiple trauma.

Preferred Qualifications

Role Purpose

Provides multi-skilled, direct patient care, under the direction and supervision of a registered professional nurse. This job requires completion of a foundational nursing skills course or equivalent (fundamentals, foundations, or adult/peds health.

Responsibilities

• Assists nurse with patient and family education. Documents all patient care activities provided with correct medical terminology. Acts as 1:1 patient safety sitter as necessary.
• Ensures availability of supplies and equipment to meet each patient's needs.
• Implements direct patient care under the supervision of the nursing team.
• Collects clinical data and information on patients and reports abnormal findings to the nurse.
• Instructs patients in preparations for tests and procedures.
