Job summary

Loretto Hospital in Chicago, IL seeks an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to promote and restore patients' health through nursing processes, collaboration with physicians and a multidisciplinary team, and compassionate support to patients and families.

Responsibilities include triage assessment, patient privacy, and participating in QI activities while adhering to hospital policies and compliance standards in a fast-paced ED environment.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Illinois required.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required.
• Minimum 5 years of ED nursing experience.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
• TNCC/CEN certification preferred.
• Experience with electronic medical records preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide courteous service to patients, visitors, staff and other customers to ensure a positive experience.
• Prioritize workload efficiently and adapt to department goals and hospital objectives.
• Maintain clinical competency and annual ED skills proficiency.
• Participate in unit meetings, peer review and quality improvement activities.
• Assess patients at triage and enter into the system using appropriate decision making.
• Respect patient rights and ensure privacy while providing information and reassurance.
• Perform thorough patient assessments and reassess as indicated.
• Support teamwork and adapt to additional assignments to maintain service continuity.
