Job summary

Tampa General Hospital in Spring Hill, FL seeks a Registered Nurse to join the Emergency Department on an ongoing 36-hour per week schedule, with 12-hour evenings. The RN will assess patients, implement care plans, educate families, and coordinate with the healthcare team for safe, quality care.

The role requires an Associate's Degree in Nursing, Florida RN license or a compact state license, and BLS; ACLS and PALS are preferred. This is a staff, on-site position offering comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Nursing required.
• Current RN license in Florida or a Compact State.
• BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS preferred.
• NIHSS certification may be required for stroke patients.

Responsibilities

• Assess and analyze patients' health status on the ED unit with comprehensive evaluations.
• Plan and implement patient care, document assessments and interventions.
• Communicate plan of care to the healthcare team and coordinate with shift staff.
• Provide patient education and involve family in the care plan.
• Transcribe physician orders and participate in discharge planning.

Education

Associate's Degree in Nursing

RN License/Registration - Florida or Compact State

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
