Job summary

St. Catherine of Siena Hospital in Smithtown, part of Catholic Health, seeks a Registered Nurse to coordinate patient-focused care across med/surg and specialty units. You will use the nursing process, respect diverse patient needs, and collaborate with the care team to promote healing.

NY RN license, BLS/ACLS/PALS required; BSN preferred. 1 year med/surg and 1 year specialty experience preferred. EMR proficiency and strict confidentiality are essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• NY State RN license required.
• BLS, ACLS and PALS required.
• One year med/surg experience and one year of specialty experience preferred.
• ANA certification or specialty certification preferred.
• Ability to operate EMR systems and handle confidential information.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates a patient-focused team in providing direct and collaborative health care in a variety of clinical settings designed to promote and restore optimal health across the life span.
• Utilizes all components of the nursing process in providing care that reflects an understanding of individual cultural and religious diversities and needs, and recognition of patient rights.
• Utilizes knowledge and expertise in case management provide comprehensive, coordinated, seamless care to individuals and aggregate groups.
• Coordinates, integrates and facilitates the patient/provider relationship.
