Frederick Health Hospital, Inc. in Frederick, MD, seeks a Registered Nurse for a full-time Emergency Department role.
The RN will independently provide patient care using the nursing process, perform leadership and teaching duties, and participate in continuous quality improvement within FH policies and regulatory standards. Minimum requirements include Maryland RN licensure and an Associate's degree in Nursing, with Bachelor's in Nursing preferred.
The Frederick Health Hospital Emergency Department is a fast-paced 60 bed adult unit with 9 crisis beds where more than 70,000 patients seek care each year, making it one of the busiest emergency departments in the state.
We care for adult patients with a wide range of medical conditions. Our certified Stroke Center includes a dedicated team who provide rapid diagnosis and innovative stroke care. We also house a certified Cardiac Center providing rapid chest pain evaluation and coordinated care with our inpatient Cath Lab.

Job Summary
Supports, and is responsible for incorporating into job performance, the Frederick Health (FH) mission, vision, core values and customer service philosophy and adheres to the FH Compliance Program, including following all regulatory requirements and the FH Standards of Behavior.
Independently provides patient care using the nursing process and performs leadership and teaching duties necessary that supports effective patient care. Supports and participates in continuous quality improvement activities. Functions within the limits of the State and Federal licensing, regulatory bodies and hospital policies.

The following certifications are required for the nursing units specified. Each certification must be completed within 1 year of hire.
§ 2C (Oncology/Thorasic) – Chemotherapy
§ L&D, OB/OR – NRP, C-EFM w/in 3 years
Must demonstrate and maintain current knowledge and skills in providing appropriate care/contact for patients in the following age groups * This would be based on designated patient population for each nursing department.
Physical Demands:
Medium-Heavy Work – Lifting up to 100 pounds on an infrequent basis (less than one lift every three minutes) and/or carrying up to 50 pounds while walking. Pushing or pulling up to 115 pounds infrequently or greater than 115 pounds occasionally (no more than once per hour).

Awkward postures include repeated or prolonged reaching, twisting, bending, kneeling, squatting, working overhead with your hands or arms, or holding fixed positions.
Contact Stress : Pressing the body hard on sharp edges can result in placing too much pressure on nerves, tendons, and blood vessels. For example, using the palm of your hand to hit or stick objects can increase risk of musculoskeletal disorders.

Full time position 72 hrs per pay period
7a-7:30p with weekend and holiday rotation. 8hr on call per schedule

Pay is based on experience, skills and education. If position is part-time, salary will be pro-rated based on scheduled hours. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on specialty if applicable. Non-Exempt positions may have shift differential and/or Overtime paid, if applicable.
Pay range: $36.07/hr Min - $55.17/hr Max
