Job summary

Humboldt County Memorial Hospital in Humboldt, IA is seeking a Full-Time Emergency Department Physician to provide high-quality emergency medical care in a fast-paced environment while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

The role features rotating 24- to 48-hour shifts, holiday coverage, and incentives for qualified candidates. Full-time benefits include IPERS, Health, Vision, Dental, Life Insurance, Long-Term Disability, PTO and sick time accrual starting on day one.

Qualifications

• Board-certified or Board-eligible in Emergency Medicine or in area of specialty practice required.
• Possess effective communication skills and able to respond effectively during emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates, manages, and coordinates the medical care of patients in the Emergency Department.
• Performs the Hospitalist role as needed; manages admissions and discharges and coordinates with specialists.
• Manages shift operation of the Emergency Department; ensures delivery of quality medical care and liaison with other departments and staff.
• Develops standards of care such as care order sets, protocols and care paths; participates in chart audits and quality review.
• Contributes to patient safety, education of personnel, and ongoing compliance with HIPAA and regulatory requirements.
• Responds to urgent situations and ensures patient care continuity during hospital stay.
