Job summary

GBMC HealthCare in Towson, MD, seeks a nursing student under direct supervision of a Registered Nurse to provide direct and indirect patient care.

You must be enrolled in an accredited nursing program in good academic standing, with Maryland CNA registration OR completion of the nursing education program as outlined by COMAR 10.39.01; two instructor references preferred.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a nursing program in good academic standing.
• Must be eligible for Maryland CNA registration or have completed MSBN-compliant nursing education.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect patient care under RN supervision.
• Maintain patient records and transcribe physician orders.
• Demonstrate interpersonal skills to comfort patients and coordinate with hospital staff.

Job description

Under direct supervision of the Registered Nurse provides direct and indirect patient care.

Education:
Currently enrolled in good academic standing in an accredited school of nursing program.
Licensures/Certifications:

• Healthcare Provider (CPR Certification) – not needed for Hospice student positions
• Current registration with the Maryland State Board of Nursing as a Certified Nursing Assistant. OR
• Successful completion of the nursing education program courses as outlined by the Maryland State Board of Nursing in COMAR 10.39.01

Experience:
Completed at least one clinical rotation
Two instructor references are preferred with the application.
Skills:
Interpersonal skills required to comfort and care for patients and maintain effective contacts with a variety of hospital personnel and staff.
Analytical skill necessary to assist with maintaining patient records and transcribing physician orders

Pay Range

$16.57 - $23.67

Final salary offer will be based on the candidate’s qualifications, education, experience and alignment with our organizational needs.
