Job summary

The Baptist Health system in central Alabama is hiring a Registered Nurse to provide supervision on shift, coordinate nursing activities, and ensure quality patient care. The RN will perform assessments, plan and implement care, and collaborate with physicians and clinicians. This role may include additional duties within the scope of nursing practice.

Qualified candidates hold active RN licensure with BLS; BSN is preferred. Flexibility for shifts, including weekends and holidays, is expected.

Qualifications

• Degree in Nursing required, BSN degree preferred.
• Active RN licensure required, BLS required. Additional certifications (ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, etc) may be required depending on area assigned.
• Ability to observe, assess, and record work, safety and infection control standards.
• Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
• Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Ability to resolve customer complaints and concerns.

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements

Position requires sitting for 20% of the workday and mobility 80% of the workday. There is occasional stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching. There is frequent reaching, use of hands and repetitive action. Requires occasional lifting or carrying up to 50 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 150 pounds. There is a continuous need for speaking with clear diction and hearing sensitivity in conversation either by phone or in person. Continuous visual acuity at close and distant range. Inside protected from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. Minimal noise levels. Much exposure to computer work. Occasional exposure to risk of electrical shock. Some exposure to infectious disease while performing job-related tasks. Some exposure to hazardous chemicals. Occasional exposure to radiation.
