Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital is seeking an ER Nurse to join a collaborative team. This role focuses on rapid assessment, decisive care, and coordination with physicians, nurses, and staff in a fast-paced Emergency Department.

Work includes 12-hour night shifts from 7pm to 7:30am, weekend requirements, and eligibility for benefits from day one. The ER team emphasizes patient-centered care and high-quality, timely service.

• Provides direct patient care activities including assessment, diagnosis, planning implementation, and evaluation within the guidelines of the standards of nursing care.
• Promotes patient and family centered care in a healing environment. Educates patients and their families on how to manage their illness or injury, including post treatment home care needs and medication administration.
• Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance. Participates in professional development.
• Develops, implements, and documents individual plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with other members of the interprofessional team and patient, family or caregiver in accordance with the established guidelines and standards of nursing care.
• BJC has determined this is a safety-sensitive position. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function of this job.

Medical-Services/Emergency-Care

We are seeking a dedicated ER Nurse to join our team and make a difference in critical moments. Our ER team is built on collaboration, clear communication and a commitment to providing the highest level of care - quickly and effectively.

The ER Nurse will work closely with physicians, fellow nurses, and medical staff to ensure seamless patient treatment; prioritizetasks efficiently in a fast -moving environment; support and comfort patients and their families during urgent medical situations.

Overview

Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital offers highly specialized surgical and medical services in an intimate environment and is known for outstanding patient care. With 64 private patient rooms, 14 operating rooms and four intensive care unit rooms, the facility was designed to provide a comforting environment that is innovative, efficient and centered on the patient experience. The campus features a park-like setting with landscaping and a walking path that winds through the grounds and connects to Millennium Park.

The Emergency Department at Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital is a full service 8 bed Emergency Department, staffed by Registered Nurses, Patient Care Techs, and Washington University Emergency Medicine Physicians. We meet the needs of our community by serving both pediatric and adult populations.
