Job summary

Independence Health System seeks an experienced Emergency Department staff member in Greensburg, PA to perform clinical assessment, triage, and direct patient care with minimal supervision. You will collaborate with nurses and physicians to address patient care needs and ensure adherence to guidelines within an ED setting.

The role includes rapid assessment, documentation, and support for department operations, with opportunities to mentor new staff and participate in quality improvement

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or Higher Level of Education.
• Strong leadership ability, good organizational skills, independent and critical thinking skills, sound judgment, and knowledge of legal aspects and liability of nursing practice.
• Strong ability to communicate complex topics to a wide and diverse audience.
• Ability to work with multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Completes and documents direct patient care without supervision (e.g., vital signs, intake/output, specimen collection, venipuncture, and specified procedures).
• Collaborates with the nurse and physician regarding patient care needs.
• Acts as a coach/mentor to other staff within the department.
• Performs independent actions to provide smooth, continuous care in the Emergency Department.
• Participates in departmental operations and assists with restocking and equipment readiness.
