Job summary

Essential Scribe is hiring medical scribes to work alongside physicians, PAs and NPs in the ED, documenting patient visits in the EMR. No prior experience required, with paid training and ongoing clinical exposure to build medical terminology knowledge.

Role offers a supported training program, mentor guidance, and opportunities to learn while gaining hours in a real healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• College degree or current enrollment in a 2-4 year program.
• Minimum 2-4 shifts per week.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Ability to clearly communicate orally and in writing.
• Responsible and mature with a passion for healthcare and learning.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Minimum typing speed of 65 WPM.
• Comfortable with computers.

Responsibilities

• Document patient visits into the electronic medical record while clinicians are with patients.
• Shadow healthcare providers and support on clinical documentation.
• Learn medical terminology and clinical workflows on the job.

Medical Scribes work side-by-side with healthcare providers (physicians, PAs, NPs) following them around the ED to document patient visits into the electronic medical record system as everything occurs. Essential Scribe is currently hiring those looking for valuable clinical experience with leading healthcare providers.

This is a paid position with paid training. In this position, you will gain an extensive base of medical terminology and clinical information as well as gain on-the-job clinical exposure and hours. This position is ideal for those pursuing or interested in a career in healthcare.
