Veritas Veterinary Partners in Tustin, CA is seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician for Emergency & Critical Care. This role centers on dedicated ICU and emergency nursing, with opportunities to cross-train in Internal Medicine and Surgery and to work alongside board‑certified specialists in a fast-paced ECC environment.

Qualifications

• Active California RVT license or ability to transfer from out of state.
• Minimum 2 years experience as an RVT.
• ER and/or ICU experience strongly preferred.
• Confident handling critical, unstable, and ASA III+ patients.
• Strong technical multitasking in a high-acuity environment.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs and assist with team lifting for larger patients.

Responsibilities

• Fulfill RVT responsibilities with an emphasis on Emergency and ICU care.
• Provide 24/7 nursing care for critically hospitalized and emergency patients.
• Perform triage and ICU nursing for unstable, high-acuity cases.
• Monitor and document vital signs, patient condition, and treatment response.
• Recognize subtle status changes and promptly relay findings to clinicians.
• Deliver advanced care for patients needing oxygen therapy, blood transfusions, CRIs, and intensive monitoring.
• Perform anesthetic monitoring for routine, emergent, high-risk, and ICU cases.
• Assist with diagnostics and procedures across ECC, Surgery, and Internal Medicine.
• Obtain and process diagnostic samples (venipuncture, ABG, cystocentesis, crossmatching).
• Perform advanced ECC/ICU procedures (central/PICC line, nasal cannula, transfusions, CRI setup).
• Maintain accurate medical records and ICU flow sheets.
• Communicate professionally with clients and uphold AVSG/VSSOC standards.
