Job summary

City of Keller, TX seeks a Certified Emergency Communications Specialist (Dispatcher) to operate the communications center, receive calls, and coordinate police, fire/EMS and city services across Keller and neighboring cities.

The role requires calmness under pressure, the ability to work up to 12-hour shifts, and passing CJIS, vision/audiogram, and background checks. Incentives include a $2,500 sign-on and a $2,500 relocation stipend.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Valid Texas Driver’s License with a safe driving record.
• Pass a vision test and audiogram; background checks and exams.
• Typing 25 words per minute.
• One year emergency dispatch experience preferred.
• CJIS requirements: no relevant disqualifying offenses in last 10 years.
• Ability to think quickly and communicate clearly under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment, receive emergency and administrative calls, and coordinate services for Police, Fire/EMS and others.
• Dispatch units, maintain radio and electronic logs, and monitor CCTV as needed.
• Provide CPR and Emergency Medical Dispatch instructions until responders arrive.
• Work shifts up to 12 hours; maintain composure in stressful situations.
