Job summary

Park Nicollet is seeking an Emergency Center Technician to provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. EMT licensure and BLS certification are required at hire, with preferred previous ED tech experience.

The position is 0.7 FTE with day and night shifts, eight-hour blocks, and every other weekend, in a fast-paced emergency center environment that values compassionate care, critical thinking, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Completion of EDT program or EMT program or completed first quarter clinicals of an accredited RN or LPN program.
• Currently validated CPR skills and BLS provider status required upon hire.

Job description

Position Summary:

The Emergency Center Technician provides direct patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse, utilizing his/her skill and expertise to complement other health care providers. EMT licensure & BLS certification required at time of hire. Current or recent emergency technician experience preferred. Safe, patient-centered care is the highest priority in the Emergency Center department. Candidate must provide compassionate care to the patients we serve. Candidate should enjoy fast paced work environment and possess excellent critical thinking, multitasking, and prioritization skills.

Work Schedule:

0.7 FTE, Day/Night, 8hr position, every other weekend.

Required Qualifications:

• Completion of EDT program or EMT program or completed at least first quarter clinicals of an accredited RN or LPN program.
• Currently validated CPR skills,BLS provider status in accordance with American Heart Association (AHA) guidelinesrequired upon hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

Post-secondary education preferred; EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) or EDT (Emergency Department Technician) experience.

Current EMT License upon hire and licensure maintenance recommended. This position requires familiarity and compliance with matters of law, regulations and internal policies affecting the employment relationship, (including but not limited to FMLA, ADA, EMTALA and discrimination and harassment laws). Demonstrates knowledge of age-related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and assure safety of patients.
