Job summary

UL Solutions is seeking an Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Laboratory Technician for our Research Triangle Park, NC location. This full-time, on-site role operates on 2nd shift (2:00pm-10:00pm EST or 4:00pm-12:00am EST) with training during 1st shift (6:00am-2:00pm EST) that can last from 6 months to a year before transition.

Responsibilities include setting up and testing equipment, reading schematics, documenting results, and supporting engineers.

Qualifications

• 2-year degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electronics, or related field.
• Basic knowledge of electrical principles and concepts.
• Hands-on experience with electrical equipment, testing, or troubleshooting.
• Effective communication skills and ability to interact with customers.
• Proven ability to be innovative and creative.
• Desire to work in a team-oriented environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office is a must.
• Ability to incorporate automation into day-to-day testing.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate equipment and test setups for clients.
• Builds/adapts test setups for performance testing.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, instruments.
• Follow defined test plans and datasheets.
• Evaluate test performance and sample operation.
• Record and report test results accurately.
• May direct staff in test setups and assist customers during setup.
• Maintain designated test equipment and laboratory area.
